Marilyn began her ballet training in the 1950s at the Wilkes-Barre Ballet School under Barbara Weisberger, founder of the Pennsylvania Ballet. She went on to earn her B.A. in Arts and Humanities from the State University College at Buffalo and later her Master’s degree from Buffalo University.

Her career as an educator and director spans decades. Marilyn owned her first ballet school in Wilkes-Barre, PA for six years, then directed The Ballet Center of Williamstown for many years, and The Ballet Center at Manchester for an incredible 39 years. Trained in the Russian Balanchine method, she has dedicated her life to sharing the artistry and discipline of ballet.

While in Manchester, VT, Marilyn produced concerts at the Southern Vermont Arts Center for 13 years, presenting performances by world-renowned companies and artists including New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Boston Ballet, Lines Ballet, Philadanco, Viva Carlota Santana, Andrea Del Conte, Twyla Tharp, Paul Taylor, Pilobolus, and many more.

Marilyn reflects on her career as a “wonderful life with dance.” Today, she is delighted to be part of the Studio North Dance Arts faculty, where she teaches Advanced Ballet under Miss Jessica’s direction—continuing her passion for inspiring the next generation of dancers.
