Makayla Dowling
Faculty - Children's Programs, Hip-Hop
Competition Team Choreographer
Makayla discovered her love of dance later on in life. She was introduced to hip-hop when she joined her high school dance team. She went from dancer to captain to becoming the coach after graduation. She attended MCLA, where she became an active member of the Dance Company. This is where her love of dance flourished. She was a dancer, choreographer, and wore multiple hats on the club's executive board.
As Co-President of MCLA’s Dance Company, Makayla’s adventure into teaching hip-hop began. She started teaching classes for the North Adams 21st Century After-School Program and then moved onto many of the dance schools in the area.
Makayla is an Early Childhood Educator. She loves helping children find their creative strengths and watch them grow. She strongly believes in learning more about her style and has travelled all over to take master classes with top names in the hip-hop dance industry such as Ian Eastwood and the Young Lions, Matt Steffanina, Dave Scott and Tricia Miranda.
This is Makayla's tenth season on faculty at Studio North
