Competition Team Director & Choreographer

Miss Jessica has been dancing since the age of 9, when a friend asked her to join her for dance classesat Karen’s School of Dance. At 13, she began intensive training with Susan Hakes Girard, founder and former executive director of Berkshire Dance Theatre, where her love of dance truly flourished. Under Susan’s mentorship, Jessica trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, modern, acrobatics, and choreography. She successfully completed Grades I–VI of the Cecchetti USA Ballet Exams with Karyn O'Toole.

After graduating summa cum laude from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Jessica joined the BDT staff as Susan's Administrative Assistant . Over the course of 12 years, she advanced to Office Manager, Faculty Coordinator, and eventually faculty member, teaching under the guidance of Karyn O’Toole.

Jessica has also been deeply involved in the broader dance community. She has been a part of the Dance Studio Owners Association Inner Circle for six years and has been a member (and former officer) of the National Association of Dance and Affiliated Arts.

Today, Jessica continues to share her greatest passion: helping students grow in skill, confidence, and creativity—while discovering the same joy in dance that first inspired her.
